Founded in 1950 as a livestock business by Alex Lyon, we began with the intention of neighbors helping neighbors, and grew to meet the needs of our community. Throughout the years and with the help of Alex’s son Jack joining the family business, livestock animals grew to farm equipment and beyond. We’re grateful that the farmhouse where it all began back in 1950 still serves as our Lyon Auction headquarters more than fifty years later; family owned and operated by owner Jack Lyon, along with incredible, dedicated employees (many of whom have been with us for decades).
We are deeply thankful to be the largest family owned auction company in the world, and are proud to serve small town farmers to big city consignors, and every family in between. We know equipment inside and out, because when he’s not in the Jack in the Box running a heavy equipment auction coast to coast, you can find Jack baling hay and herding cows on the farm. We know your heavy equipment needs, because they’re our needs too. We haven’t forgotten our roots and take great pride in helping our neighbors and friends across this great nation.
